Joanna & Greg — Two days at Malhadinha Nova

Joanna and Greg gathered their favourite people at Herdade da Malhadinha Nova on 25 and 26 June 2026. Two days in the Alentejo, with a welcome barbecue, blue cowboy boots and an evening around one long table.

Herdade da Malhadinha Nova

Vineyards run into pale, open fields. Horses graze beside the water. Around the whitewashed buildings, the pool and shaded terraces offer a different view of the same landscape. Malhadinha Nova gave this wedding a strong sense of place, with room for the people and their stories.

The day before

The day before the wedding began with a barbecue: shared tables, terracotta cups, live music and friends greeting one another. Joanna wore a short white dress; Greg, a patterned shirt. Later, we walked into the vines for a few portraits as the sun dropped behind the buildings.

Blue boots. Lace. A little dust.

On the wedding day, Joanna paired her lace dress with pale blue cowboy boots. Greg wore a dark jacket with jeans. Those choices sit naturally alongside the stables, the dusty paths and the open countryside. Some of our favourite frames came from their time with a horse: close portraits in the shade, then the three of them walking out into the light.

One long table

The evening gathered around a long table beneath the trees. White flowers and strings of lights ran through the scene; guests lifted their napkins as Joanna and Greg arrived. By night, the table became a line of light in the dark.

The whole story

Photographing both days let us follow the whole change of pace: the first greetings, portraits in the vines, blue boots on the path and everyone together after sunset. A wedding at Malhadinha Nova, told through the landscape and the people who filled it.
